April Sullivan is the heart behind the vision of Rest. April’s personal journey with health began with her struggles with melanoma, chronic migraines and joint pain.  She began to seek true healing, not just symptomatic fixes.

Backed with a doctorate in Physical Therapy from Hardin Simmons University, April began her professional career. Eventually, April and her husband, Shawn, opened their own physical therapy clinic. Driven by compassion for her therapy patients to see wholistic health, April’s research lead her to Functional Medicine. In 2017 she finished her studies through the Kresser Institute for Functional and Evolutionary Medicine. As her knowledge grew, so did her desire to create a place where people could locally have access to the modalities she was learning about. In March of 2018, REST opened its doors. April’s convictions about health stretch into her personal life where she consistently pursues weight training and healthy cooking. In her free time April and Shawn love spending time with their three kids hiking in the state park, and April dreams about opening her own restaurant and making her own cookbook.

JEREMY
KIRLES

Certified LENS Practitioner

Jeremy came to Abilene in 1994 and graduated at Hardin-Simmons University. He is married to Crystal, and together they have 3 children. Jeremy has spent most of his occupational life as a pastor, which gave him a love for helping people one on one through different seasons of life. Prior to college, Jeremy watched his mother battle cancer and after her passing, he realized many of the chronic health issues and patterns his mom wrestled with seemed to be working their way into his own life. After 7 years of battling chronic fatigue, joint pain, infertility, and habitual sicknesses, Jeremy and Crystal were introduced to the world of natural health. Over the next year, their bodies were healed, energy was restored, and they were able to have children. Needless to say, this reality awakened a passion for practicing health and wellness in their family. Jeremy, with his family, enjoys the great outdoors, hunting and fishing, and all things fitness. LENS along with Emotional Release techniques have recently brought about phenomenal results in their kids, particularly their oldest who for over 5 years fought a fierce battle with overactive thoughts. After many LENS and emotional release treatments, he is a different, more relaxed, more confident, and focused version of himself. His and many other testimonies like it have fueled Jeremy’s passion to see many people healed and restored to how God designed them to be.
